AnyStack Architect is where I write down the infrastructure lessons that are easy to lose between a design review and the next production problem. I'm Eric Black, a Lead Solutions Architect & Operations Team Lead with more than 15 years across disaster recovery, cyber resilience, private and hybrid cloud, data protection, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure operations.
My day job covers the full customer lifecycle: discovery, RFP and RFI work, presales architecture, sizing, implementation, onboarding, recovery validation, training, and operational handoff. I also lead an Operations team, which keeps the architecture tied to what engineers have to support after the design is handed over.
Work behind the writing
Most of my work sits around VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE, Kubernetes and OpenShift, with Veeam, Rubrik, Commvault, enterprise storage, Linux, and Microsoft cloud services around them. I also build small tools when a repeatable infrastructure problem is easier to solve in code than another spreadsheet or runbook.
